The Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority completes the training of census crews in all governorates of Iraq
Baghdad, Iraq, February 18, 2024:
The Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority announced today the start of training central supervisors from all governorates of Iraq, including the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, on the form for the General Census of Population and Housing. This training aims to prepare and equip census crews to implement the experimental census next May.
Dr. Dhia Awad Kazim, Head of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority, praised the importance of the participation of supervisors from different governorates, due to their extensive field experience in implementing statistical surveys. He also emphasized the importance of overcoming the difficulties that researchers may face in the field, and testing the form effectively to ensure the accuracy of the information collected.
Mr. Qusay Abdel Fattah Raouf, Director General of Technical Affairs, noted the importance of this meeting at this sensitive time. He added that the aim of the course is to explain the concepts and guidelines of the form in detail, and to ensure the success of the e-census.
